Djimon Hounsou is an award winning Hollywood actor from Cotonou, Benin. The actor and model was born in 1964 and began his acting career in 1990.
For the movie geeks, the African American actor Djimon is the dark chocolate, ripped man in the movie Gladiator.
The handsome actor who arrived Nigeria December 4 visited Maiduguri and shared a message expressing his heart break over the situation of women and children in Maiduguri. These victims lost all to the callous act of the terrorist group Boko Haram.
The highlight of the post is: "While I was in #Maiduguri, in North East #Nigeria, I went to a nearby village called Jakana. Here I was reminded that Boko Haram isn’t the only side in this conflict."
"I met a woman there whose husband was arrested by the military two years ago. She hasn’t heard from him since. And now her and the children do not have enough to eat."
"Yagana isn’t alone. Thousands of women have lost their husbands to Boko Haram and the military. It saddened me to see so many women that are left to care for their children." See post below:
As he shares the heart-wrenching photos, he adds powerful messages regarding the hurt these victims go through. He also faults the Nigerian army who have forced so many out of their homes based on suspicion.
